Myles Padaca

Professional Surfer/ Water Man

Myles Padaca was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. He has been surfing since age ten. At the age of twelve, he started competing throughout the amateur ranks and went on to be a four-time Big Island Pro/Am Champion. He has been competing professionally for fifteen years.
In 1991, at the age of twenty, Myles moved to Oahu’s infamous North Shore. This is where he started to gain respect and make a name for himself in the surfing World. Within a year he made his first final at Sunset Beach. From 1993 to 2000, he traveled the World competing on the WQS, making numerous finals. In 2000 he won his first WQS event at Sunset Beach.
Winter of 2001, Myles took third in the Haleiwa Pro, the first jewel of the Triple Crown. He then secured a wildcard entry into the WCT, World Cup at Sunset Beach, by winning the trials. He went on to defeat the top 44 and win the World Cup title, the second jewel of the Triple Crown. With the win at Sunset and the third at Haleiwa he took the coveted Triple Crown of Surfing title, accomplishing his life long dream.
In winter 2002, Myles stared in the WB reality hit TV show, “Boarding House North Shore”. For seven weeks the camera followed him and six other World class professional surfer’s 24/7 throughout the entire Triple Crown, capturing not only Myles incredible surfing and waterman abilities, but his friendly, up front and down to earth character.
Myles has been in or on the cover of every surf magazine in the industry. In April 1996, he landed the cover of both Surfer and Surfing Magazines. He has been in numerous surf videos and sport television shows. Myles has also been in several fashion and fitness magazines including Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Citizen K, Men’s Fitness, Esquire, Rolling Stones, and Details.
Myles is acknowledged and respected by the harshest critics, his peers, as a big wave surfer and exceptional waterman. For the past ten years he has been invited to compete in the elite Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. His love for big waves has him tow-surfing into monster size waves for the past ten years.
Myles has also done numerous paddle board races in the islands. In 2002 he crossed the Molokai channel, a thirty-two-mile race of grueling open seas and strong currents, considered by some to be the most challenging crossing on the planet.
